This weekend will bring Rosetta to London who will play their only UK show of 2016 at Camden’s renowned underworld with Nightshift promotions who are once again pushing the boundaries by putting on some of the best live music at the venue.
Rosetta were formed in Philadelphia in 2003. Their first two full lengths, 2005’s The Galilean Satellites and 2007’s Wake/Lift, pulled together elements from 90s hardcore, drone, doom, and atmospheric sludge metal with the band also somewhat humorously self-describes its music as "metal for astronauts", and its members are very interested in astronomy and space travel.
Today, the band have 5 full length albums to their name with multiple EP’s and splits under their belt but their most recent release Quintessential Ephemera which hit shelves back in 2015. The album saw the band moving into more upbeat and melodic territory, with greater use of clean vocals
The weekends show forms part of their 2016 European tour which see’s multiple dates across many countries including France, Germany & Belgium but unfortunately just the one Exclusive UK show with London being the host.
Its an absolutely crammed lineup with mighty 5 bands in total. Pulling support duties will be The Black Heart Rebellion who will wow the crowd with their post rock/hardcore sound which claims to have established itself back in the Belgium punk scene back in 2014. The sextet will fill the underworld stage having shed their old skin and slowly reshaped their original shape as they put it themselves. They are definitely not one to miss!
North will also be adding to the value for money and will give those with a tendency to a heavier sound something to sink their teeth into. Their dark sludgy sound from a very healthy back catalogues worth of songs. Their latest album ‘Light The Way’ is out now through Prosthetic Records and isn’t one to be missed if you’re a fan of the genre. A band that definitely has an opportunity to make their mark at the show and one we can almost be sure will go down well.
And what would the show be without UK Instrumental metal lads Telepathy fresh of landing themselves a slot at this years DesertFest who will join in on the nights shenanigans bringing what they describe as “Furiously played progressive sludge, intricate soundscapes and a bucket load of riffs” and let us tell you, we can vouch for that.
Opening the entire show are a band known as The Ever Living who, If we are being honest are a new one for us here at The Revival but that’s a good thing right? That’s what makes us love what we do. Going to shows and discovering new bands is and should continue to be something experienced by all on shows such as these especially when they are as awesome as this band are. We must tell you we just got through listening to their self title debut release and we can hand on heart say we will be there right from the very beginning of the show to make sure we don’t miss them and you know what? You should to!
To cater for so much musical goodness, this show has a slightly earlier start than usual with the opening abnd on stage at 17:30 so be sure to make a note of this and show The Ever Living some love! You’ll just kick yourself if you don’t.
Tickets are still available and are priced at a ridiculously reasonable price of just £13 and are available right here!
