PREVIEW! Primitive Man - The Underworld, Camden

June 7, 2016

Nightshift promotions are set to take over Camden town this weekend once again with what is another quality line-up of music for the fans to sink their teeth into.

Gracing us with their presence, headliners Primitive Man will bring their “filthy, malignant maelstrom of blackened doom” to the stage at the Underworld. In addition, the support for the night comes from the mighty Sea Bastard, Slabdragger & King Goat.

Described on the bands facebook page, Primitive Man music matches its name: a savage, sparse mix of death metal, blackened noise, and doom riffs. The three piece was formed in February of 2012 where the band recorded their debut LP Scorn which was released through a collaboration between Throatruiner and Mordgrimm Records. The unique metal hybridization of Scorn caught the attention of Relapse, who liked the record enough to sign the band and reissue the full-length in summer 2013 and was Dubbed a "totally malignant sounding record and one that will consume you whole if you’re not careful,” by Cvlt Nation and called “the best worst thing that has ever happened to you,” in an 8/10 review from Metal Hammer.

UK doomsters Sea Bastard have seen continued success having been featured as part of such lineups as Damnation Festival, Mammothfest & Doom Over London Festival and continue to build upon their momentum as main support to Primitive Man. Expect heavy heavy music. With infulences such as Cathedral, Sleep, Black Sabbath and Weedeater, The band are definitely not out of place on this lineup.

Adding to the lineup, Slabdragger will be, as they say themselves, dropping fire truck riffs on your head right after King Goat who will be kicking off the event with their epic progressive doom with a vast range of influences, both inside and outside of metal
